Monitoring trade in plastic waste and scrap

Global trade in plastic waste and scrap declined further (2017-2021) 2021 preliminary data indicates a continuing trend the first half of 2022 (January to May). The combined surplus OECD Member Countries (i.e., difference between exports imports) continued decrease. Less is being exported by countries non-OECD countries, however some still export substantial volumes countries. Particularly several south-east Asian remain large destinations. At same time, has increased. value composition suggests that more high easy recycle was traded. regime remains dynamic with new destinations emerging, which deserve monitoring.
